The
Lebombo Game Reserve is situated in Northern Maputaland, South Africa and
includes 4 500 hectares of lush bushveldt ideally suited to become a major
player in the booming Eco tourism industry. Lebombo is easily accessible
being 6km from the National Highway, 6km from a tarred airstrip (1 800m)
and 300km from Durban Airport (150km from Richards Bay). The Reserve is ideally situated to provide the tourist with a game safari experience and deep sea fishing adventure at Sodwana Bay, a mere 80km drive from Lebombo Game Reserve. |

it is well positioned for future developments as it lies at the centre of
The Lebombo Spatial Development Initiative (S.D.I.), a massive undertaking
between the Government of S.A., Swaziland, Mozambique and the Private Sector.
This will result in a substantial increase in tourism, which will in turn
directly benefit conservation. Lebombo Private Game Reserve is one of the bigger privately owned reserves in Northern Zululand. Game species have been introduced and game farming is being conducted in accordance with a working document done by the University of Pretoria (Wildlife Management Centre - Prof. W. van Hoven). Selected Hunting was initiated in May 1999. It showed remarkable potential, especially with regards to Foreign Trophy hunting. After an introductory period of two years was allowed for the re-establishment of the veldt, infrastructure, boreholes, training of staff and management, we now have an organized management team. |
